Prevention Services

In addition to helping people after their lives have been impacted by alcohol, other drugs and gambling, NAIC works collaboratively with communities to prevent and reduce substance abuse and related issues. Prevention Services provides technical assistance/consultation, education, early intervention, leadership development, coalition development, training, social policy strategies, advocacy, and awareness through a variety of programs.

Drug Free Communities for McClain County

Drug Free Communities is a federal grant for the Blanchard Community Coalition and McClain County.  NAIC serves as the fiscal agent and provides technical assistance, consultation and training in evidence based programs and practices, community education, and the development of coalitions, youth leadership programs and social policy change.  For more information on these efforts, please contact Tom Clote at tclote@naichelp.org or 321-0022. 

 

S-CAP - School and Community Assistance Program

S-CAP is a school-based early intervention and prevention program that assists students in reaching their full potential. S-CAP provides evidence-based classroom curriculum, which may include substance abuse and violence prevention, and other relevant life management strategies, in-service programs on related topics for school personnel. 

S-CAP provides 6-8 week education group sessions for students that may include anger management, children of divorce, substance abuse prevention, or other topics based upon the needs of the students and referrals for students and their families who are in need of additional services. S-CAP also provides a limited number of individual student support sessions to assist students in developing their own goals and measures of success.  for more information on S-CAP, please contact John Gilley at jgilley@naichelp.org or 321-0022.
